Holy Communion is Celebrated Weekly

Communion Participation:

As Missouri Synod Lutherans, we believe that the Bible clearly states that we receive the true body and blood of our Lord in, with, and under the bread and wine.  Because of the bible's witness to doctrinal oneness by those receiving the Sacrament together, the churches of our Synod promise to practice close communion. (1 Cor. 10:16-17, 1 Cor. 11:27-30, 1 Tim. 6:3-6)   If you are a confirmed member of another Lutheran Church (non-LCMS), we ask that you please speak to the Pastor or an Elder prior to the service.  Members of non-Lutheran churches are requested to speak to the Pastor concerning classes which prepare you for communion and membership. (1Cor. 4:1,2 & Heb. 13:17)

Martin Luther (author of the Small Catechism, the Large Catechism, and the Smalcald Articles) and Philip Melanchthon (author of the Augsburg Confession, the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, and the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope)

It is taught among us that Baptism is necessary
and that grace is offered through it. Children,
too, should be baptized, for in Baptism they are
committed to God and become acceptable
to him. (AC IX:1-2, Tappert)

...God provides for the public proclamation of his divine, eternal law and the wonderful counsel
concerning our redemption, namely, the holy and only saving Gospel of his eternal Son, our only
Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Thereby he gathers an eternal church for himself out of the
human race and works in the hearts of men true repentance and knowledge of their sins and true
faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. (FC SD II:50, Tappert)
